As a means of enabling the reintegration of street children into the community and to support their education, Sheer Love Rwanda opened their computer lab for extended periods of time after regular school hours to serve the community. Bluebird Soccer Academy a training ground for underprivileged children and community members of Mukarange Village within the Kyangwali Refugee Settlement in Hoima District, Uganda. Founded by Executive Director John Kato, a previous refugee of the settlement, Bluebird Soccer Academy provides children with access to quality education, leadership development programs, and strong mentorship programs that will help them improve on their lifestyles, soccer talent, and skills while creating a self-reliant community. The academy serves refugees from Democratic Republic of Congo, Rwanda, Ethiopia, and South Sudan. Many of the former players end up becoming mentors of the current players.
The Rural Youth and Adult Literacy Trust is a non-profit organization that assists adults and teenagers living in rural areas (or who are otherwise isolated) with literacy and numeracy. Learning Upgrade has partnered to bring the program to rural youth and adults throughout New Zealand.
Shared Action Africa is a nonprofit that supports women and girls to attain sustainable livelihoods, lead healthy lives, and become agents of climate justice in rural and refugee areas in Uganda. Sweetwater Adult Education has enrolled thousands of adult learners over the past 10 years into the Learning Upgrade app for ESL, ABE, GED Prep, and job skills. Los Angeles Public Library and Learning Upgrade have collaborated for over 15 years to give adult learners in Los Angeles a path to reading proficiency.
